Counseling Services

Dear High School Bubbler Families,

Over the last few weeks during the school closure, while we can't see you face to face, we counselors have been working daily to be sure that you have the information and needed resources to continue to be successful.  As we are all adapting to this new lifestyle of education and communication, please know we will do our best to work together and get through this challenging time until we can be together again!  We will continue to be available to help with any of your questions, concerns, or needs.  We are still here to help you find information, resolve issues, and support each of you individually. Though the buildings are closed, we will be working and accessible through email, phone, or Zoom video conferencing.

See the UPDATES link to left for ways to connect with your counselor and to access all counseling department updates.

Below, please find some resources regarding COVID-19 and other immediate needs.  We will be updating our counseling webpage with pertinent information as it becomes available.

We are all in this together!  We would like to stay connected with all of you.  Please do not hesitate to reach out.  We are looking forward to being back at school with you all.

In fine Bubbler tradition, GO BE GREAT TODAY!!!!

Welcome to the BSHS School Counseling Department!

Your School Counselor is available to assist students with academic success, personal/social growth, and career development.

The Counselor’s goal is to help students maximize his or her school experience and prepare for a rewarding future. Counselors emphasize students take an active role in developing self-awareness, exploring career paths, and making informed decisions regarding academic and career planning and life choices.

The Counseling Department promotes the development of each student’s potential, so that every student will become an effective decision-maker and problem-solver, a lifelong learner, and a productive member of society. Counselors work with students regarding, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • Resiliency
  • Goal setting
  • Action plans
  • Understanding differences
  • Respecting others
  • Development of self-concept
  • Conflict resolution
  • Course selection
  • Career awareness
  • Decision making
  • Interpersonal communication
  • Community resources

The counseling office is always available to students and parents. We encourage students to visit the Counseling Office as often as they need. As a minimum, all students will have a yearly individual appointment with their assigned counselor to review academic progress, graduation requirements and career goals.
