Student Withdrawal

Why the Withdrawal Process Matters

When a student transfers to a new school, there is a process we must follow to ensure their transition is smooth and accurate. This process is very important and here is why:

1. Accuracy: Student records (such as transcripts, grades, attendance, and test scores) must be sent directly from one school to another to ensure they are complete, accurate, and confidential.

2. Student Privacy Laws: Federal and state laws require that we only release student records once we receive an official request directly from the new school. This protects your child’s personal information.

3. Continuing Education: Receiving the official request helps us make sure your child’s new school gets everything they need in a timely manner, avoiding gaps in their learning.

4. Finalizing Enrollment: Even if you notify us of your child’s withdrawal, nothing can be processed until the new school sends us the records request. This step officially begins the transfer of student information.

What This Means for You as the Parent/Guardian

· You’ll let us know when your child will be attending a new school

· The new school will then contact us directly with a records request

· Once that request is received, we can finalize the withdrawal and transfer your child’s records

This process ensures everything is handled properly, securely, and without delay in your child’s education.
